Summary

The Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) provides money for projects to improve agriculture, the environment and rural life.

Fund details

You could be eligible for a Growth Programme grant if your business is carrying out a project to create jobs or bring more money into the rural economy.

There are 3 types of grant:

Open for Micro & Small-sized businesses (new or existing) and farmers diversifying into non-agricultural activities to:

  • Constructing or improving buildings
  • Buying new equipment and machinery
    Upto 40% intervention rate:
    Minimum grant is £20,000
    Maximum grant £175,000
  • Must create at least 1 FTE job for every £30,000 of grant funding
    (30+ hrs per week)
  •  Should respond to LEP local priorities

 

Priority to Micro, Small and Medium-sized food and drink businesses that process agricultural and horticultural products to:

  • Constructing or improving buildings
  • Buying new equipment and machinery
    Up to 40% intervention rate (45% Cornwall):
    Minimum grant is £20,000
    Maximum grant £175,000/£750,000 (variable intervention rate)
  • Must create at least 1 FTE job for every £30,000 of grant funding
  • Should respond to LEP local priorities
