Zap & Go

Grant Funding Consultancy Case Study

Funding Competition: Innovate UK Open competition

Company Sector: Cleantech

Funding Secured: £700k & £155k

Project Description

Zap & Go hold multiple patents related to the fast-charging and storage of energy in Carbon-Ion batteries – a mid-point between Li-ion and Supercapacitor technology. The team of scientists, engineers and commercial experts are leading the world in the development of advanced energy storage devices with cross-cutting sectorial applications. Zap&Go’s new cell technology, dubbed Carbon-Ion (C-Ion®), exploits the properties of novel carbon nanomaterials and electrolytes to underpin industry-leading performance, including ultra-fast charging and a vastly increased life span when compared to lithium batteries. Zap & Go wanted to further develop their prototype with the aid of grant funding to enable them to advance the technology and find additional applications in new sectors including the Electric Vehicle and Renewable Energy markets.

Zap & Go were successful in securing £700k and £155k of grant funding from the Innovate UK open competition. This funding will assist them in developing their prototype to become industry-leading experts for their sector.

Client Quote

“I understand private equity finance and had dabbled (successfully) with grants, but I needed a company that could help us navigate the UK R&D grant funding landscape – and write winning bids. I found that in the team at Granted” – Simon Harris, Zap & Go.
