Summary

This competition seeks to address the NHS Net-Zero target. All proposed innovations must take into account the supply chain, full product life-cycle, as well as the impact that these solutions will have on carbon emissions. Projects under the SBRI Healthcare programme, Delivering a NetZero NHS competition, should aim to develop technology-enabled solutions addressing the challenges outlined in the following categories:

  • Reducing emissions from car miles
  • Reducing emissions from surgical pathways
  • Reducing nitrous oxide emissions
  • Tools to support low-carbon decision making

SBRI Healthcare competitions are open to all organisations that can demonstrate a route to market for their solution. The SBRI Healthcare scheme is particularly suited to small and medium-sized businesses, as the contracts operate on short timescales. Developments are 100% funded and focused on specific identified needs, increasing the chance of exploitation.
