The Opportunity

The successful applicant should be at graduate or equivalent level with a keen desire to deliver high-quality management consulting to private and public sector clients across a variety of industries. The company is seeking a competent, incisive, and dynamic team member to work collaboratively with the team on project delivery, client management and business development.

Main Responsibilities

The role will be focused on identifying and securing funding for ambitious clients across multiple industrial sectors.

Responsibilities will include

  • Developing robust, clear business plans and strategies for client projects;
  • Succinctly capturing and clearly presenting complex information in a written form to an educated funder audience
  • Efficiently managing internal reports and documentation; advising and reporting to senior management;
  • Updating partners and clients on current and upcoming UK & European funding
    opportunities and programmes
  • Investigating and remaining well-informed of alternative funding mechanisms

The candidate would ideally possess:

  • Demonstrable expertise in effective scientific communication and technical writing, ideally in the field of grant funding

  • Demonstrable communication (written and verbal) & interpersonal skills
  • Be pro-active, able to problem solve and initiate their own research activities
  • Excellent multi-tasking skill
  • Proficient in MS office suite and capable of learning new software packages quickly
  • Experience working effectively in an office environment

A grounding in understanding the typical technical, financial and commercial requirements to deliver a successful innovation project is desirable but full training will be provided.

Role Overview

Headquartered in Exeter, with a satellite office in London, Granted Consultancy is currently experiencing a period of rapid growth and is now seeking to recruit an ambitious and dynamic grant consultant to join its team. In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of the sales process and dynamics, and superb interpersonal skills. Previous experience in a sales role is required with evidence of new business development and/or lead conversion. A good telephone manner and attention to detail are imperative. This role will be focused on developing the sales pipeline and helping Granted to meet and exceed its ambitious growth targets.

Main responsibilities:
  • Managing both Granted’s existing sales pipeline and developing new business opportunities through active client recruitment
  • Identifying and contacting decision-makers, qualifying potential opportunities, selecting the clientele in line with
  • Granted strategies, and liaising with the consultants to ensure effective client handover
  • Formulating NDAs, proposals and presentations for new business clients – attention to detail is key for this section of the role
  • With guidance from the Business Development Manager, negotiate terms and convert proposals to sales after conducting value analysis
  • Demonstrating professional and appropriate objection handling
Other responsibilities:
  • Creating and nurturing business opportunities and partnerships
  • Remaining up to date on existing and potential grant funds
  • Identifying trends and customer needs, building a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline in accordance with targets
  • Working closely with the marketing team to successfully convert incoming leads and generate new leads
  • Representing Granted Consultancy at Industry events; engage in networking and develop B2B partnerships
  • Preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly reports
  • Updating CRM data consistently and accurately
Person specific criteria

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • Sales Skills and Qualifications – Business degree preferable.
  • Successful track record in B2B sales and negotiation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An attention to detail, aligned with customer-focussed consultative sales experience
  • Work experience with sales techniques, with a preference for scientific/technical experience
  • Experience with CRM systems (Copper; Salesforce)
  • Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks and workload

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, this role will be focused on supporting development of the company’s network of partners, fostering a collaborative ecosystem within innovation funding to position Granted as a thought leader in their field.

The company is seeking a motivated, conscientious and reliable team member to work collaboratively within the commercial team, supporting a key period of growth for the company. In order to be successful in this role, you will need superb interpersonal skills; a good telephone manner and attention to detail are imperative.

Main responsibilities:

  • Supporting the head of Partnerships and Directors to manage the company’s existing partnerships in terms of both contractual obligations and relationship development
  • Takes the lead in researching and approaching new partners, understanding the partners needs before qualifying potential opportunities for strategic alliances
  • Liaising with the Head of Partnerships and Directors to formulate NDAs, proposals/presentations and contracts for new partners
  • Onboard new partners including delivery of training, contractual and marketing agreements, ensuring all internal teams are briefed about the new partner as relevant
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to promote partners and partnership offerings, to support the company’s thought leadership and brand reach
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to help enhance and/or procure client services and products, and drive revenue
  • Demonstrating professional and appropriate objection handling
  • Takes the lead in researching and sourcing new strategic partners and developing and managing existing partner relationships

Other responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Business Development team in qualifying sales opportunities from partnership client referrals
  • Remaining up to date on existing and potential grant funds and the wider innovation funding space (key players, sector trends etc.)
  • Reporting on referrals to and from partners to identify and measure value of partnerships
  • Develops partnership marketing assets and strategies in conjunction with marketing
  • Representing Granted at Industry events; engage in networking and develop B2B partnerships
  • Preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly reports for management team and partners
  • Updating CRM data consistently and accurately

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • Business degree preferable
  • Successful track record in business development and partnerships
